For those who have experience with both, which is preferrable to blocking
pop-ups: the new Google Tool bar or Panicware's Pop-Up blocker?

I prefer the Google toolbar, although my opinion is more subjective than
objective.

I'm a big fan of The Proxymitron (http://www.proxomitron.info/), it's rules
are very good and can be changed easily and does more than blocks pop-ups.
It's setup like a proxy server and it can effortlessly be setup to support
other PC's on the network that don't have to run the software to get the
benefits. It's totally free and runs in the background and doesn't require
a browser to run.

I'm very fond of Popup Manager.

I prefer proxomitron, it kills just about every annoying web code there
is... pop-ups, banner ads, blinking text, window resizing, anti-right
click... and tons more that can all be turned on and off seperately if you
like. You can also set any specific filter to be active or not active on
matching urls. Oh it also doesn't have to be installed to work, just put a
shortcut to it in your startup folder.
