Dcpromo down

I have a question about dcpromo to remove AD off a
server. Is it normal for the DC to query each DC in the
domain or forest. Packet traces indicate that but some
feel its a problem with DNS. I m pretty sure reading
somewhere that this was normal. I know it will query at
least its replication partner but how about each DNS
server for the AD intergrated zone.

Maybe not with DNS but this DC may be unable to locate tehir account in
the AD and is quering all other DC to find out which of them is holding
computer account for d\DC which is subject of demotion.
