We'll need more info to help out. A DC not advertising as a DC can be caused
by a number of different reasons, and can come down to, and would be
appreciated if you can post, your configuration, such as DNS config,
ipconfig /all of the 2000 machine and the 2003 machine, forest and domain
levels (since you are mixing 2000 and 2003), free drive space on the drive
holding the NTFRS folder, and what errors, if any, are in the Event viewer.

If you can also run:
dcdiag /v /fix
netdiag /v /fix

Those tools can be available once you installed the Windows Support tools
located on the cdrom of that specific operating system.

neccessary registry information or message dll to display messages from the
remote computer and event id 5723 saying that there is no trust account in
the security database for the computer

also the intersite messageing serivce is not started and the kerberos

I didn't see the configuration info I requested. Are you able to post the
information I requested?

As for the restore and the resultant 5790 and 5723 errors, here's info on
5723 (5790 is a little more generic):
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=5723&eventno=106&source=NETLOGON&phase=1

It prety much means the restore caused the trust channel between this DC and
the domain to dissolve.

Please post the requested info I previously asked for. It will greatly help
us in helping you.
