Hi I have a mixed server enviroment of 2000 and 2003 on one of my 2003
servers has stopped running the kcc service and tells me that it is
no longer a dc.
It appears as a dc in the ad help please
thanks in advance
We'll need more info to help out. A DC not advertising as a DC can be caused
by a number of different reasons, and can come down to, and would be
appreciated if you can post, your configuration, such as DNS config,
ipconfig /all of the 2000 machine and the 2003 machine, forest and domain
levels (since you are mixing 2000 and 2003), free drive space on the drive
holding the NTFRS folder, and what errors, if any, are in the Event viewer.
If you can also run:
dcdiag /v /fix
netdiag /v /fix
Those tools can be available once you installed the Windows Support tools
located on the cdrom of that specific operating system.
