Date & time problem in XP

Hi, All,

I have limited user’s right to use Control Panel to change computer system’s
date and time in Windows XP on Dell computer. What I did is that I set the
registry key using regedit:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersino\Policies\Explorer
NoControlPanel REG_DWORD 1

But recently, the users changed the date and time on the computer, I don’t
know how they did it. When I asked them, they said that they didn’t change
date and time. I don’t know why it happened.

Does anybody know how I can trace them, then, I can know how they did it
when I look at Event Viewer log? Also, do you know how can I do to restrict
them to change date and time on the computer?

Thanks in advance,

you may be able to
set the date and time
via the bios/cmos.

one of the causes that
the date/time becomes
inaccurate is due to
a cmos battery running
low.

if after you reset the
date/time in the cmos
the time begins to change
again, then it is likely time
for a new cmos battery - no
pun intended.
