Date/Time of Outlook file changes even though Outlook not opened

Why would the date/time of the outlook.pst file change when outlook is not
opened? Causing an issue when I sync between desktop and laptop.

An external application, such as a PDA sync utlity, could be accessing Outlook data but showing no UI.

Thank you for quick reply.
I do have a PDA but do not sync it to Outlook. Also, sometimes the date/time
is in the middle of the night 1-3AM when asleep. Does that help?

Does that help in what way? I don't know whether you leave your computer on at night and don't know what other software you might be running that could be talking to Outlook. PDA sync was just one example. I've hardly ever looked at .pst date/times myself.

Additonal information: The time and date change on both my desktop and laptop
in the middle of the night. I hope someone may have an idea on this.

Thank you.
