Date/Time in taskbar

I am at 1680x1050 resolution. I have expanded the taskbar to two lines and it
now shows the time and day instead of just the time.
I am looking for a registry tweak or possible buried menu to select time and
date instead of time and day.

You could use TClockEx (http://users.iafrica.com/d/da/dalen).
It gives you complete flexibility when formatting your date/
time display.

Nevermind...I found it elsewhere.
Thanks

Tis a shame...another 'left-out' of the Microsoft settings.

Sorry for the bad link - it used to be correct. How about
letting us know the correct link?

I just did a google search and found a number of links. I grabbed it from
PCMagazines download site but since its freeware, I'm sure Tuocows has it as
well.

In either case it is not an elegant solution. That utility only overlays the
actual clock display. With a resized taskbar using the resolution I have, the
overlay does not completely cover the old display. It also has a refresh
problem. I assume it works fine on a 800x600, single line taskbar display but
it does not work for me.

So if anyone else has a suggestion, please consider this issue still open.

Thanks

Not sure if its the same thing, but I use 'TClock2', and it has plenty of
formatting options and has been very useful. Especially useful is its alarm
feature, and I also have trained it to fart on the hour - which is very
handy as one tends to lose track of time while at the pc: though I'd like to
be able to set the repeat time with more flexibility than just the fixed
hour that is given in the tick box.

Unfortunately the link that came with it no longer works, but I expect
Googling will still find it.

Cheers,

I do too on my Vista side but my XP side does not. On my XP system at home I
also have the full date. I am guessing it has to do with the video drivers.

In either case, I found a utility that does it.
TClock lite...not to confuse with TClockEX mentioned earlier.
http://homepage1.nifty.com/kazubon/

It adjusts the actual taskbar display and provides the ability to customize
it. There is also a timer and alarmclock feature and a sync setting and it
integrates seemlessly into the existing 'right-click' context menu.

A beautifully done utility. And freeware.

Thanks for your reply as well.

I checked and apparently TC2 does the same but adds more customizing such as
skin support and more icon tweaks. Time features still seem to be the same.
I wouldnt mind that fart.wav as long as it wasnt custom created. :)

I tried to check to see if there were any advances on TC2, but all the
mentions seem to be in Chinese, and the originator of the prog is said to
have disappeared...

I don't know where the sound came from: I just scanned the pc for sounds and
think this one came from another user's temp files.
I'll forward a copy to your eml address as I'm not sure about sending
executables through these columns.

What happens if you make your taskbar three lines high? I have 1024x768
resolution and a two line display, but I get a three line time/day/date
display on the right side of the taskbar.

I have 2 line task bar but my TClock2 is still just one line Day Date Time,
which is fine by me. I can't see a setting for changing the number of rows
for the clock, but maybe this is comes with the 'skins' (?). I don't feel
the urge to experiment.

As I mentioned, my XP system at home also gives me day/date/time with a 2
line display. Must be the graphics card. But TClock lite works great if your
not getting all three catagories.

From the link, it still does not appear to offer repeat alarms less than
hourly though.
