Database showing as READ ONLY but property is unchecked

Yesterday this database was working fine. The main user came in this morning
and all of a sudden it is opening in read only. I have checked the
properties in Windows Explorer and the read-only box is NOT checked. Does
anyone have any other suggestions of how this might have happened and how to
fix it? I can't even get the database menu to appear when holding shift down.

Please help!

This can happen if multiple users are opening the database from a network
server but not all of those users have read/write access to the folder the
database is located in. If Access can't write the lock file to the network
it will do so to a local drive, and all subsequent users that open the
database get a read-only copy of it.

If this is the case, have all the users exit the database & reboot. This
should clear up the problem. You will have to verify that each user has
read/write permissions to the folder the databse is in or you'll encounter
this issue again.

Thank you Kevin. I don't think anyone else was in the file, but I will
defintiely check this out.
