Database Saving/Closing question

I use several Access databases at work. Everytime I exit one of them, the
database is renamed and a duplicate version is saved. Ie: Personnel V.5
would become db.1 when I closed it. The next time I use it, there wili be a
db.1 and db.2 on the network; the next time db.1, db.2, db.3, etc... Others
in the office who use the same databases do not have the problem so I think
it is particular to my computer.

I have used Access and these databases for many years without encountering
this problem before.

Has anyone had this problem??

You have Compact on Close enabled. It also looks like you don't have delete
privileges for the folder holding the database file or there is some strange
sort of corruption problem. Do you see any error messages during database
shutdown?

Another possibility is that you are manually shutting off power to the
computer before Windows shuts itself down OR you have the database open when
shutting down Windows and for some reason, Windows is quitting before the C&R
is finished.
