database password issues

We have a problem where one of our Access database files is asking for a
password when we open it. It doesn't ask for a username only a password, so
I believe someone has set a database password. Our problem is that the file
was on the server and we don't know who set the password or what the password
is. Is there anyway to get around the password/take the password off because
none of the passwords we try work. We use Access 2000, we don't have a
database administrator for our office, and everyone is considered admin on
their own computers.

I hope someone can help as we really need to get into that file. Thanks

Unfortunately asking for a password is also a sign of file corruption
(usually non-recoverable). One method that definitely does this is if the
file is opened in Word or Excel and then saved.
