Database conversion

I'd like to convert an Access 2000 that i had on an xp machine to an Access
2007 database on my new Windows 7 machine. Whenever i attempt to either 'Save
As' or 'Convert' I get a message that the database is already opened
exclusively by the 'Admin' user and to try again when the database is
available. What am i doing wrong?

Try creating a new, empty database and use File... Get External Data... Import
to import everything from the 2000 database.

Hmmm.....

Try opening your database holding down the Shift key the entire time that it
is opening. Then try doing the conversion, before opening any objects.

when the db is closed. do you see an .ldb file for it still existing?
