Data Validation error

Hello. I have set up Data Validation to Allow from the List that I set up.
This is working however if a user types in anything in to that cell, no error
message appears. I have selected Show error alert after invalid data is
entered on the Error Alert tab in the Validation menu. I have also entered a
title and message on the Error Alert Tab. I'm thinking it must be something
pretty simple that I can not locate on Help or in the message boards

When it fails to issue the error message, make sure that Data - Validation is set for that
cell -- perhaps it didn't get set for all of the cells which should have this validation
set.

Since I am creating a new tool for the end users, I am trying to perfect one
row prior to copying. this is hte only cell that I have set up for data
validation if I set it up correctly. I went into the Tools Menu and used
Data Validation. It must be working some becuase the drop down menu links to
my list.

Any other suggestions?
