data summary in week, month and year

hi. i have data a2:a6000 as DATE. R2:R6000 Net P/L. now need dat
summary in weekly, monthly and yearly view of Net P/L.

i tried pivot table somehow cannot do above. can someone help here?

the DATE is daily date is from Monday to Friday. Now the weekly
monthly and yearly total of the NET P/L are needed. my first time usin
pivot table and unable to summarize the data using pivot table. or mayb
other method to data summary on weekly, monthly and yearly NET P/L

Hi
if your dates are stroed as real Excel dates you could group within the
pivot table by month/year. Just slect the date column and open the
pivot table menu

hi Frank, how is the date as 'real Excel dates'? i use English (US) dat
format. is that applicable to your method? i tried that date format an
couldn't. thanks
