Data from Outlook and Outlook Express

K

Kristi

I have just ordered a new computer, and it has Outlook
loaded in (I believe it will be Outlook 2002 since it is a
new Dell computer). Currently at work I use Outlook 2000,
and at home on my other computer I use Outlook Express
(pretty sure it is version 6).

How would I import info (address book, contact info, misc.
folders I created saving emails)from Outlook 2000 and
Outlook Express into my new Outlook 2002? I don't want to
override info from one the Outlook 2000.pst with info from
the Outlook Express.pst

Thanks for any help on this!

Outlook Express doesn't use the .PST file format, so that's not a concern.
And you will be able to use your Outlook 2000 .PST file in Outlook 2002.

For the OE stuff: First you'll need to copy all of your Outlook Express
data to the new computer and import it into Outlook Express there. If you
need help with that step, go to http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com for complete
instructions on backup and restoration of OE data. Once you have the OE
files established on the new machine, use File | Export in OE or File |
Import and Export in Outlook to get the data into Outlook.

For the Outlook .PST and other files: Look at the following two articles
for help -- one is a primer on Outlook files, and the other gives
instructions for moving to a new Outlook 2002 machine.
