Data changing during export to Excel?!

Hi all,

I have a query in access which I am linking to excel. I am doing a straight
data dump using the "Data - Get External Data - Create New Query" menu's. The
data in the access query is correct, but for some reason the excel data is
coming back different, even though I am not applying any filters during the
export! Can anyone think why that would happen? I've been linking data for
years and have never seen this before!

Try explicitly formatting the date in your query:

Format(DateFieldName,"mm/dd/yyyy")

or whatever format you require.

Thanks Roger. The problem isn't in the formatting though, the actual data is
changing! My access query returns 30 apps for a certain brand on the 2nd
January. When I export this to excel, it shows 8 apps on the 2nd... I have no
idea why, I've tried creating a different query and linking that to excel,
but as soon as I do the data changes.
