Data Access Page

I am summing a field in a data access page. I don't see
any way to change the text box to a currency field so
created an expression in the underlying query that formats
the field as currency. I then receive the following
message when I attempt to view the page. "Data type of
the child column for the sum, average, or standard
deviation aggregate column must be numeric. Does anyone
know a solution to this problem?
