Data Access Page

Jenneth

I setup some Data Access Pages on our company's Intranet.
On some computers, I get the following error message when
accessing them:

"The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file
Filename. It is already opened exclusively by another
user, or you need permission to view its data."

I looked up the error message in the Microsoft knowledge
base and it talks about Accesibility Options issues (which
we are not using). It also says Microsoft has a fix, but
doesn't tell me where to download it.

The problem computers are using Windows 2000 service pack
4 and the Office Suite 2000, with Service pack 3.

The computers that are not having a problem are running
Windows 2000 service pack 3 and the Office Suite 2000,
service pack 2.

Is the solution to uninstall service pack 4 and go back to
Office Suite service pack 2? Or is there a simpler way to
fix this?

Thank you,

Jenneth

If you'll see my response to David, you'll see the appropriate newsgroup for
DAP questions is microsoft.public.access.dataaccess.pages .

Just in general, however, removing a Service Pack is only on rare occasions
the solution to problems with Access -- so rare that I've never had to
remove one.

Also, since yours was a completely different question, it would have been
better to start a new message thread rather than replying to an existing
one.
