Customize Outlook inbox so flag icon is on left

I would like to put the flag icon as the first column in my Inbox. I went to
Customize View and pushed the Flag Status field to the top. It shows that it
is first, but after clicking on OK, it doesn't move it from the right-most
column. It will not move out of that position even if I try to move another
column to the right of it. Is there a way to do this?

quick flags are not supported anywhere except on the right. You can add the
normal flag column - but need to disable quick flags and should save the
view as a custom view so it doesn't get replaced by the default view.
