customize outlook folder list

I have a particular contacts folder that I use extensively. It is
buried in a hierarchy of nested contact folders out of necessity, thus
I have to open a bunch of folders to get to it.

Similarly to the shortcuts supported in the Outlook Bar, can I put
some kind of "shortcut" at the same level as the 'root' (main) Contact
Folder when using Outlook Folder lists?

I don't want to use the the Outlook Bar (too big and fat)

Thanks

Why not just move the buried contacts folder up to the level you want?

Why not just move the buried contacts folder up to the level you want?

I an effort at brevity I left out some important details.
I have a deep (as apposed to wide) hierarchy of hundreds of contacts.
At different times of the month I will work mostly with a given
folder. Constantly moving the 'folder of the month' to the top for
easy access, and then having to remember where it came from so I can
put it back would be cumbersome and likely lead to miss-filing.

If I could put a 'shortcut' at the root of the folder hierarchy while
leaving the original in place, I could simply blow the shortcut away
when I am done w/ that folder.

As I mentioned the Outlook Bar does what I want, I just don't like the
real estate it takes and am used to working w/ folder view.

Hope that clarifies.
Thanks

My suggestion remains to widen you hierarchy and lose some of the depth.

You can put shortcuts in the Navigation Pane's Shortcuts view.
