Ok, so some times when i start up my computer it wants to freeze. It gets to the Windows loading bar, the screen just before the windows vista logo comes on and makes a sound. The bar will load a little then the third or fourth time of the bar loading through it will just freeze. But some times, it will randomly work too. But has anyone experienced this problem or know whats wrong? Any help would be appreciated

Random problems such as you describe are usually caused by failing
hardware, not software (Vista). So start your troubleshooting with the
hardware.

Standard caveat: Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out
suspected parts with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing
yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local
equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Have all your data backed up
before you take the machine into a shop.

I agree with Malke it is probably a hardware problem. The diagnostics in
Vista may help you figure out where the problem lays. Open the Event Viewer.
Under Windows Logs look for errors in the Application and System logs. Under
Applications and Services Logs expand Microsoft => Windows =>
Diagnostics-Performance => Operational. Look for errors in the "Boot
performance monitoring" Task category. You probably won't find an error
pointing out the exact cause of the problem but you may find some clues as
to where to start with the hardware troubleshooting.

Hi,

I'd just like to add a possibility.
After checking to make sure cards are seated, and possibly a hard drive
check, I'd suggest checking drivers. There should be an option in the
Advanced startup menu to see what drivers it's choking on.
