curser freeze

WindowsXP SP2

Recently, I find that my curser will freeze while using Outlook Express or
Explorer. The mouse is an optical mouse, model HP P8131-0. When the curser
freezes-up the computer is still running fine. After rebooting, all is
well...for a while.
Are there any remedies for this type of problem or do I simply need a new
mouse? Thanks.

If it only freezes while using those 2 programs, I suggest you install replacement programs: at mozilla.com, you can get a replacement webbrowser and e-mail client for free, with which you will stop having such problems (and others).
