Current version ???

Defender shows the following:
windows defender ver: 1.1.1051.0
engine ver: 1.1.1185.0
Signature ver: 1.0.0.0

the home tab shows that the difinitons have not been updated in 20
days....when I click update
the update button grays out, but comes right back. No mention that files are
up to date or
whatever.


if I click on about & click its update button, the button grays out, but
nothing happens.

tried uninstalling & re-installing, didn't help

We provide Defender signature updates through the Windows Update
infrastructure. Can you browse to http://www.windowsupdate.com and verify
you can detect, download, and install updates? If you receive an error
message in windows update, you will not receive Defender updates.
Alternatively, you can check the system event log for WinDefend errors or
warnings and post those back.

I had the same problem, went to site and it caused 50 updates to repeat
download and install, but it worked in the end. Thank you.
