Any ideas how to fix this error.... I recently installed the first part of
Symantec Corp. Antivirus version 10. It created a mmc which is on the
desktop and in the Start/Programs menu, no big deal right....right....ok, so
the next part of the Symantec install tells me to click on the MMC for the
symanted System Server, when I do this, I get the error message of 'Current
Policy prohibits running Microsoft Management Console in Author mode'
I went to the microsoft web-site and found a couple things, but none of them
seemed to work. I went to the Group policy editor (gpedit.mmc) and under
User Settings, Administrative tools, Windows, MMC, and changed the 2 settings
regarding author mode FROM 'not configured' TO 'Disable'
I re-booted, logged on and off several times, and that did not stop the
problem.
