CTRL+ENTER DOES NOT WORK

When I type an address in the address bar and press
ctrl+enter I do not get the expected results.

Example

I type:
msn
I press:
ctrl+enter
I get:
http://msn/
I expect:
http://www.msn.com

Any Ideas???
