Ctrl Enter Does not Work in Address Bar

in the old times when i was typing a domain name in the address bar and then
preesing Ctrl + Enter it used to fill in the http://www. in the begining
and the .com by the end and now when i m doing this its opening a search
engine can any one tell me how to fix it
