CTRL + C does not work

CTRL + C and CTRL + V do not work in Word 2000. However they work in Notepad
and WordPad.
I can copy (paste) in Word 2000 using Edit/Copy(Paste).
The problem still exists when I start in safe mode.
This happened after I changed to a new computer (Gateway GT5032) with
Windows Media. Before, with Windowsxp there was no problem.
Thanks in advance,
Gerhard

Check to make sure you didn't "lose" your keyboard shortcuts:

Go into Word/Tools/Customize
Click on the Commands Tab and go to the Keyboard key
Under Categories go to Edit
Under Commands find EditCopy
Make sure the current keys have Ctrl+C entered
Then find EditPaste and make sure the current keys have Ctrl+V entered
