Ctrl+Alt+Delete for IBM Thinkpad T42

I have an IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop that froze in a game. All I have now is a
black screen with the mouse pointer showing. I tried to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to
get to the Task Manager so that I can either end the task that caused the
freeze or reboot the laptop (and then delete the game). The Ctrl+Alt+Delete
does not work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Type EXIT and press Enter.

Try hitting the Windows key or CTRL-ESC. This should bring up the Start Menu
and most of the time minimize the game.

Hold the power button until it turns off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on.
