Ctrl + Alt + Del

How do I make it so that Ctrl + Alt + Del displays the task Manager instead
of the options screen.

Start Task Manager is one of the options on the screen.

Also you can call the Task Manager with a right click on the Task Bar.

But it's more efficient to just have it pop up when I press Ctrl + Alt + Del.
That's how it worked in XP, and isn't Vista supposed to be more efficient
have less "clutter"? Those extra options that pop up are worthless. I never
use them and they can all be accessed either through the Start Menu or
Control Panel, in the remote event I want to change my password or switch
users (I'm the only user on my desktop). I mean, if you need a hot key that
lets you change your password you've got some serious security problems.

Ctrl-Shift-Esc brings up Task Manager, just like XP. Happy? Some things
change, some don't.

The new options screen completely replaces the old method. According to the
Vista team responsible for the feature, usability studies found that most
users wanted the options in a single place on a screen as it is now. I'm
not saying I think it is the best way, but that is the reasoning MS used.
From what I learned from the team during TechBeta, there is no workaround to
restore the old way. Sorry.

Forget Ctrl + Alt +Del. Ctrl + Shift + Esc is the key combination for task
manager. This is from the NT based versions of Windows, which Vista (like
WinXP) is a part.

But Colin, the 'old way' was the way from Windows 95/98, not from any of the
NT Versions of Windows.

Right-clcik desktop is another annoyance for me in the new way of things.

MUCH simpler the old way . .

Ctrl + Alt + Del displays the Windows Security dialog for me on XP.
That's because I'm on a domain.

So it isn't a universal thing in XP. To get Task Manager use Ctrl +
Shift + Esc.

On a standalone machine like mine Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up a menu with the
following choices:

Lock this computer
Switch Users
Log off
Change a password
Start task manager

So this is essentially the same as Windows 2000/XP
