CSV file with Comma in text Field

I am exporting a CSV file which allows and end user to save customer
information. Unfortunately, there are some customer names that have a
comma in the name (ex: Winn Dixie, INC). How do I export and Import
these names as a .csv while still retaining this info as a single field
rather than two seperate fields?

Thanks,
Gary

When you export from Excel to a CSV file, Excel should put quotes round the
data in any cells containing a comma. It can then be reimported and seen as
one cell. As always, if in doubt try it on a copy of you data.

Thanks Ian.
Currently EXCEL is not putting the Quotes around the Data. Is there a
setting or a config that I should set first?

Thanks again,
Gary

Not that I know of. I've just ceated a new sheet and tried it. I got a
message saying that the file may contain features that are not compatible
with CSV and Yes/No/Help buttons.
When I clicked Help I got a page entitled "Formatting and features that are
not transferred in Excel file format conversions". On this page is a section
relating to CSV. Part of this section reads "The CSV (*.csv) file format
saves only the text and values as they are displayed in cells of the active
worksheet. All rows and all characters in each cell are saved. Columns of
data are separated by commas, and each row of data ends in a carriage
return. If a cell contains a comma, the cell contents are enclosed in double
quotation marks." There is no mention of en/disabling this feature.

Thanks Ian. I'll keep trying, and share the solution with you when I
find one.

Thanks again,
Gary
