Crucial 9800Pro does it have video in?

While its not a crucial feature (pun not intended) I wouldnt mind
having video capture on my next vid card (definately gonna be a
9800pro).

As the Crucial 9800 Pro seems to be the cheapest card available in the

UK I thought maybe it lacks Video In?

Whether it has video in or not are there any other (relatively) cheap
9800pro cards out there with video in?

Video in is not a feature of the 9800 Pro. To get video in you need to
go to the All-In-Wonder.

And VIVO cards. But I don't think there is a 9800 VIVO, pro or otherwise.

Thanks, I just came to the same conclusion myself after looking around
some more. Ah well never mind I'll do without for now, decent frame
rates with AA at high resolutions is compensation enough I suppose ;).

Just ordered from crucial so should have it by Tuesday.

Did see one advert for a VIVO 9800Pro that was "coming soon", but the
estimated price was more than a top end AIW card.

Only the All-in-Wonder cards have video in.

Yea, as I said, the only ATI cards with VIVO are the All-in-Wonder's.
If he went Nvidia there are a number of cards with VIVO though.

No, there are several ATi VIVO cards which are not AIWs. I have a 7200
VIVO, and there are more recent VIVOs. But there are no 9700 or 9800 VIVO
cards, I think, unless this 9800 Pro VIVO mentioned by Marcus appears.

There are several Radeon VIVO cards which do video in without a tuner. It's
one of the problems with MMC 8.x at present, that it doesn't seem to install
MMC's usual Video In app for a VIVO rather than the TV app. The name of the
app does change to Video In after a few boots, but a debug monitor shows
it's still trying to initialise a tuner.

His question was pertaining to a 9800 so my comment still stands.

Gnasher, you said "Yea, as I said, the only ATI cards with VIVO are the

If he went Nvidia there are a number of cards with VIVO though." I think
that strongly suggests you're aiming your remarks at a much wider range than
just 9800 cards. ;-)
