Creative X-Fi - No Sound

Hi, I just installed the current RC over an Media edition pc, where
everything was working fine. After that there is no sound and the message
'No output device is installed'. I've downloaded the creative 64-bit version
of drivers and installed them. If i go into device manager it shows the
sound card working correctly with drivers, but when I go into sounds from the
control panel it notes that no output device is installed. If I go into the
creative debug tool and run tests, it finds the drivers, but fails on the
windows media test. Has anyone seen this, or know how to resolve it?

I have a dell e510 with a creative X-fi sound card. After a few days of
trying to get it to work with the beta version from creative for windows
vista 64-bit rc1 I finally got it to work. First I went into system setup F2
then onboard devices and turned on the onboard audio device then reboot then
allow windows to boot
windows and allow windows to search for new hardware and it should install a
driver for a high definition audio device. then reboot again to make sure it
loaded correctly. If it did then reboot and when windows starts hit F8 on
startup and scrolled down to disable license verifcation. Then install the
creative beta version.
You will have to reboot one more time and again hit F8 and disable the
driver verifcation every time. But I do have sound now and the creative audio
console works as well.
I hope this helps
