Creating Walkthrough Tutorials for Windows Media Player

Hi

I am looking at new ways of sharing knowledge within my organisation.
I work as an IT consultant creating SQL Server 2005 and reporting
solutions and one thing I'd like to do is create short 'video'
walkthroughs which show the user a recording of point and click mouse
sequences in order to provide step by step instructions on how to solve
specific IT-related problems... I am not wanting to do anything fancy-
may be just a video of automated screen shots sequenced one after the
other... I would then like to be able to play these using Windows
Media Player.

Anyhow I have been doing research on the web and can find very little
on how these sorts of video demos can be made. Is it just a case of
taking shots of the screen with a digital camera and then sequence them
using editing software (Windows Movie Player perhaps ?) or is there an
easier/better way to create these types of tutorials? Adding audio
would be nice too if possible but depends on how complicated this will
be.

Any help on this greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nassy
