Hello I am using Outlook 2007 Plus configured for an exchange server.
I added my personal gmail account through Imap and get this message
when I click New to create a new message. Is there a way to remove
the exchange permissions to allow me to create/send a message from
gmail??

Computer - XP Pro, Outlook 2007

Thanks!

Ok, so SP2 was already loaded and I downloaded and installed the
hotfix. I still get the same error message.

I believe it has something to do with the exchange setup. I am not
using the exchange anymore. I deleted the exchange profile and still
get the error message.

Any more ideas??

Thanks!

I'm trying to duplicate using GMail, Outlook 2007 running against Exchange
2003 and coming up empty. Do you have any 3rd party Office/Outlook addins
installed? (e.g. do you get the same error if starting Outlook in safe mode?
how to: Start > Run > outlook.exe /safe > OK button)

Did you make a new profile or add the account to the same profile exchange
was in? Where are the imap accounts sent items saved? If you didn't select a
new folder (in account settings) they go to the default sent folder which
would be the exchange cache, which it can't access.

Diane thanks for the reply. I changed the sent folder location and
still get the same message, I even tried creating a new sent folder
and linked it to that. This is new profile.

Neo where is the oulook.exe/safe located? I tried what you had stated
but it could not find the app.

Thanks for all help!!

See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/safemode.htm for help using the
/safe switch. Make sure you leave a space between outlook.exe and /safe.

Still no luck with safe mode.

I can download and view all my messages just can't create or reply to

I will uninstall outlook 2007 and use a 2003 version I have.

is it activated? Creating news items and replies are disabled when outlook
isn't activated.
