Creating Forms in Word

How do you change the visible form field size to match that of the text form
field maximum length. In other words the shaded form field needs to match
the size of the text form field, and not shift other text when an entry is
made.

You'll find it difficult to make the form field itself the desired size, but
you can put it in a table cell the desired size, with a bottom border if
desired.

You can put in the number of non-breaking spaces that you have allowed for
form length as your default text. Ctrl-Shift-Spacebar. What you are talking
about is what Word calls an "online form." For more about online forms,
follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or

Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at

Hope this helps,
