I recently upgraded from Win 98SE (new computer), and am
very pleased with XP. I do have several DOS programs that
I want to still be able to run. In Win 98 they had a DOS
window, so no problem. I assume I will have to create a
DOS partition. Will some program like Partition Magic do
that? Do I need to install DOS in the new partition?
Where do I get the latest DOS? Many thanks.

New computer came with 98..?
XP will run most dos stuff as long as it don't talk to the hardware
directly.

Windows XP still has a Command Prompt window. All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.

You can also click Start, Run and enter CMD.EXE

This Command Prompt supports long file names and the like.

COMMAND.COM can still be used, with the same limitations it had in 9x systems (no LFN support and etc.)
