Creates Bookmarks in PDF File

Hello all... My first post here - wish me luck :)

As my message subject may suggest, I have a PDF file that I want to create
some bookmarks in for easier navigation.

So far I have googled till I can google no more with no luck.

Now that I think of it, I actually have the original publisher file that
the PDF was created from using PDF995... If I can't add bookmarks to a PDF
file directly, is there a PDF creating program that can create bookmarks,
while creating the PDF? Is this a feature of PDF995 I've overlooked
perhaps?

Thanks
Stuzz

Hi,

From the PDF995 home page:
<http://www.pdf995.com/>

"The Pdf995 Suite offers the following features...

Automatic insertion of embedded links
Hierarchical Bookmarks
etc, etc"

HTMLDOC will automatically create a bookmarked PDF if the original HTML
document has "heading" tags in it. It's getting harder to find it in a
freeware version, though.

If my memory serves me, Free eXpert PDF Reader allows the user to add
bookmarks to a PDF. I deleted the program, so I may be mistaken.

There are several DOC to PDF programs utilizing Ghostscript that claim
the ability to add bookmarks (e.g., Ghostword).
