Create sequential numbered documents from a template

Hello:

I would like to create sequentially numbered documents
from a template and have WORD track the previously
assigned numbers and place the next sequential number on
the current document.

Ex: I want to create a PO template and have WORD assign
PO number '100' to the 1st PO, '101' to the 2nd, '102' to
the 3rd. and so on.

Each PO created from the template would automatically
recieve the next sequential number.
