Create history appointments without the reminder

Office 2000 when creating appointments that would have already occurred does
not put the default reminder notice.

Office 2003 when creating an appointment that has already occurred reminds
you of the appointment.

if today is 1/1/2005 and I create a calendar appointment for 12/1/2004
Outlook 2003 reminds of the appointment, where as previous version were smart
enough to know that the time and date has already past, and does not remind
you.

Is there a setting in Outlook 2003 to have it work similar to 2000/2002 in
this regards?

Isn't it just as easy to uncheck the reminder box when you create it? One
click isn't hard to remember.

If Office 2000 and Office 2002 didn't require it why should Office 2003
require this extra step. You are right, you could uncheck the box when
creating it, you could also just click the "Dismiss" button when it pops up
very easly.

Heck, you could turn it off all together.

I am sure there is a way to automate this, Outlook is too smart for this.

Sorry, this didn't help.
