Create a Search or Go To Field

After extensively searching the database I cannot seem to find anything that
applies to my situation.
Firstly I am VERY green at Access 2007 or any Access for that matter so if
you could bear with me. Code is 'greek' to me. I need things very simplified.

1. I have a contact database that I have inherited that needs a "search"
field at the top of the form. It would need to search anywhere in the form
which has addresses, phone #'s and the like. Do I need to create a button? Or
can I use the field I have created and add a text box 'Search'?

2. I have a couple of reports my staff would like to have the 'Calls' tab
prompt her when she has to do a call back for that client - can this even be
done? Or can it send her an email on the date she has entered in the field to
remind her she needs to call this person on that day??

I would appreciate any help you have to offer.
