After a series of D1 crashes, which had stopped after I updated all my
motherboards drivers, I had an 8E crash. When I re-opened windows it gave
me like 7 error reports in, two of which claimed it was a driver problem, two
a hardware, two saying that the CPU detected a hardware fault, and one saying
it was a memory thing. I went with the last one, and did the memory check it
tells you about.
I am on pass 5 now, using all 11 tests, and the ERAND test has consistantly
showed errors.
five in the first pass
Three in the second
Three in the third
eight in the fourth.
and I am in the middle of the 5th right now.
I also had one LRAND error in the first pass of the extended test. I had
done two passes with the typical test before this, which picked up nothing.
Does this mean that I have faulty memory sticks, and if so, how do I decide
which to replace, or both of them?
Also, I was thinking about updating my BIOS tomorrow as well. Do you advise
this?
Thank you very much.
