Crashes - Service Control Manager Event ID 7000 Error

Arthur

I have been getting a lot of sudden unsolicited reboots for a while now. On checking Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/System I notice a large number of Errors saying 'Service Control manager, Event ID 7000' with the message "The Software Cinemaster NT4.0 Driver service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."

I've never heard of software called Cinemaster, and I run Win XP, not NT !!!!

Also whenever the reboot is completed, if I ask for error reporting to be done, the analysys always says there is a Driver problem, and yet when I have windows Update check my drivers, it always says there are no new drivers required.

I am unable to search for similar reports in the newsgroup - nothing happens when I click on the Search button????

I'd really appreciate some help with this - thanks in advance. Arthur

I would try to find a website for the company that made
your Video card/sound card, (whatever component driver it
is having a problem with) and check there for a driver to
download. I don't believe the windows update service
keeps track of ALL possible hardware drivers.

I am also unfamiliar with the Cinemaster software.
Perhaps it is something that was included in the software
package that came with your computer. Computer Companies
love throwing in software that the customer probably will
never use. Check through the software CDs/disks that came
with your computer to see if any of them are for
Cinemaster. If you can find one, perhaps you should try
reinstalling that.
