Crashes everywhere on new RC1 install

The first time I tried to install Vista it didn't go well at all: after the
installer had to reboot for the first time and Vista RC1 tried to startup it
gave an error for some kernell file (it would be missing or corrupt), so the
DVD was probably burned wrong. I was wondering though that the installer
didn't check for corrupt files...

So I burned it again and this time it all worked. I was away while the
installer was running and after about 2.5 hours (it probably was waiting a
long time for my input) I came back and it asked for an administrator account
name and password. Somehow all the images below were a little red. After I
entered all things like a computer name etc. the computer suddenly restarted.
After it was started up it asked for a new administrator account though the
first one I created still existed, I entered everything again (only a
different name for the administrator). The images were all normal now!

So it started some sort of optimizing thing. When it was nearly finished the
computer restarted again. After startup it started again and finally the
login screen appeared. Everything was fine so far. I wanted to start playing
with settings etc. but after a few minutes of surfing around in 'Computer'
explorer got an error and explorer had to restart. Well I thought: can
happen. So I fired up 'Computer' again but soon got an error again. So I
started the Control Panel to try some things there. When I was working in the
Device manager to install new drivers it always stops when I let it search
for new drivers in some directory, so I can't install any drivers at all.

Now I can't connect to the internet because of this: my Network card driver
is not installed. So does anyone know what is going on?My systems specs
(might be usefull for someone):

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
1024 MB DDR2 PC4300 Twinmos
Geforce 7600 GT 256 MB Club3D
Asus P5B-Deluxe/Wifi-AP
Maxtor Maxline III 250 GB SATA-II
I used the x86 version of Vista RC1

Windows Vista is installed on partition E with 40 GB space and a Windows XP
installation can be found on drive H. Other partitions are DVD player and
storage partitions.

Problems with the new mobos that support C2D are showing up on forums. The
x86 edition of Vista may deal with it better but some sort of memory timing
problem seems to affect x64 the most. The culprit may the BIOS and the
result seems to be that the ram is too fast. For example, on my E6600
system I could not install or run XP Pro x64 at all with ram above 2GB even
though XP Pro SP2 (x86) had no trouble at all with 4GB. XP x64 is fine with
only 2GB of ram. I use a P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe and pc6400 ram.
