Crash!!

I have just turned my P.C on and have been confronted by the following error messag

\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMce

It has suggested that I run the recovery console etc. I do not have a recovery disk. It has also said when i tryed to run the repair through the fast option that it cant find a copyof winnt

Is it the end of my hard drive or just my install of windows 2k

Hi Richard,

Could just be Windows...

If there is data on the disk you need, and repairing the installation fails,
you could try installing a new hard-disk, make it the master (boot) disk,
and install a fresh installation of Win2000. Once this is done, you can try
to access your old disk and see what (if any) files are still accessable...

If there is nothing on the disk you want, I guess just re-format it,
re-install windows and run a thorough disk check before you start using it
again.
