Crash + Crash Again

Windows XP (Home) is crashing. After experiencing some crashes, were the
screen goes back and the system reboots, I looked here for some support, and
decided to reboot from the XP install CD, delete the partion, reformate the
drive, and do a clean install of XP. I installed Norton's, downloaded all
Windows security updates, and then installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0,
did some imageing for 15 minutes, and had another crash.

Any suggestions from this point?

Is AutoReboot turned off? If so and the bugger just goes black, you have
a hardware failure induced crash. Overheating CPU is a usual suspect.
Cover off and see whats inside for dust balls and fan opperation.
