Hi
Seem to be having a massive prob with my laptop!
My system Idle Process is running at 99 and any second now my laptop will
shut off again automatically!
Anybody know any ideas why CPU is constantly running at 100%? and what i can
do to prevent it?
Thanks

System idle process is the CPU not doing anything. It is idleing. It is
setup to either hibernate or standby, that is why it is shuting down. There
is nothing wrong. you can change the standby\hibernate behaviour by going
into control panel | power options. Change to whatever you want even turn
off power options so the computer is always running.

Break out a dictionary and look up the word "idle," sometime. ;-}
The "System Idle Process" metric is the amount/percentage of time that
your CPU has nothing to do. A reading of 98-99% is generally
considered a good thing, and readings above 90% are normal. Think of
it like a car's engine idling in your driveway before you place the
car in gear.

If the laptop is abruptly turning itself off, it may well be
overheating. Double-check all of the airways and cooling fans.

Yeah i know idle! but it wasnt making any sense to me, if i am unable to load
up Windows Media Player without the Fan going schizo, or for me to load up an
internet page and for the computer to automatically shut off, i didnt think
it made any sense and the only thing that i can work out which is causing
that is because the system idle process runs at 98 every time i turn the
laptop on.
