CPU working 100%

Since the last few days I have the CPU working at 100%. The cause is
Ad-aware. It all started when I tried to find updates for Ad-aware (free
version) and would give me error 1814 "Could not login to service. Are you
running this application as another user?"
I have an old Dell Inspiron 8200 which belonged to my son. When he
transfered it to me I just changed his name and password for mine, in his
user account. I have been using it for about 8 months without problems. I
could see that his name still was in "documents & settings" but since I had
no problems I didn't bother to find out how to change it.

By the way, since I only changed the name in his user account, I am as
Administrator.

Since Ad-aware is causing the 100% cpu, I tried to uninstall it but I get
the same message about "running the application as another user".

What can I do, please? I would appreciate your help.
Thank you

First try creating another user. You should never use anothers user account
for your own if possible. Do you have anti-virus software and/or active
malware removal software There are several thing you can do to help.

Check your harddrive space. I had a simular problem a couple of months back
with a differant AV program. It was not the program. I had just forgot that I
loaded up the drive with avi files. When the AV was trying to scan the drive
I don't think it had any space to place some temp files it needed to run.
Once I cleaned out the drive and ran a defrag all was good to go.
