Okay, I've had this problem for awhile now, but after getting another system
I've kind of pushed this of to the side until now.
Awhile ago, I had my system running. It was always on and connected to my
broadband network. One day, it was completely fine with no problems. I went
to use it the next day, and it was like it shut down. My CPU usage was at
100% and STAYED there. Thinking that it was maybe a virus, I, as a last
resort, re-installed XP. I completely reformated the C:\ drive and
repartitioned it. It still took 1 1/2 DAYS for XP to be installed and get to
the initial desktop.
I have no idea what's going on with this. Even if it was a virus, it
shouldn't have affected my hardware if I completely erased it all, right?
I've asked several people including both hardware and software developers and
programmers about this. None of them can explain it. Has anyone ever
experienced this or have any suggestion as to what I can do? In terms of
complete replacement, that's almost impossible for me because I'm basically
your standard broke college student.
What do I do? If ANYONE can help, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance.
