CPU usage at 100%

Im using a Microsoft Exchange Server account with Outlook 2002 and when i try
to access e-mails the whole system slows down to a grinding halt and CPU
usage ups to 100%. I have checked knowledge base articles and there aren't
really any specific to my problem.
Does any one have any ideas?

P.S. I have Office XP service pack 3 installed, how can i obtain post
servcie pack hotfixes?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Alex.

Alex,

When you checked you processes does it indicate that Outlook is the program
using the resources. Another possibility is your anti-virus program may be
the culprit.

If Outlook is the issue then I would create a new profile to see if that
resolve the issue if not run a Detect and Repair or even reinstall the
program.

Also check to make sure there is no spyware running on the system by using
an anti-spyware tool. Microsoft has one available now in beta or you can use
Ad-Aware.
