CPU Fan

Hi.

My CPU fan doesn't seem to spin. I've turned my pc off and dusted abit, and blown the fan to see if it spins then and it does, so it isn't jammed or anything.
Could it be unplugged? If so how could I check this/plug it back in.
and if not, what else could be wrong?

It should simply uscrew from the heatsink mate. The power lead can only be put back onto the motherboard one way so you dont need to worry.

May need cleaing properly or replacing. Might be easir for you to just buy a new one unless you want to try cleaning it first.

Are you running a utility such as Asus QFan or similar? If so the fan may only kick-in when the CPU reaches a certain temperature.

What are your CPU temps like without the fan running?

What do I do on that systerm info program?


It's causing my CPU to overheat I think, because after about 30minutes max, my pc just turns off.

If you try this Everest software , its free , it will help you give us all the info we need and also tell you alot about your pc . Its self explanitory .
