CPP phone support

I saw this blurb in a MS e-mail yesterday. I browsed to the link and didn't
immediately see the information for calling, but there's a lot of stuff
there so I may have missed it. No mention of a fee so it may just be that
they're trying to train the support people.

"Windows Vista CPP customers: Phone support now available
<http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=5966905>
We are pleased to announce the addition of phone support for participants in
the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program (CPP). Phone support will be
available to North America CPP participants using English-language versions
of early test builds of Windows Vista (Beta 2, RC1, or RC2). See Web page
for additional details."

The quote he gives is in the copy of Microsoft's "Exploring Windows"
newsletter that I received yesterday.

Carey, PSS phone support has been extended to CPP participants who are still
using pre-release copies of Vista.

They're not trying to "train them; they never have. They use contractors
who are Convergys of Ohio who don't train them and they don't care. It's
obvious to anyone who has played with Windows for a week. Convergys of
Cinncinaiti Ohio outsources chiefly to five or six major population centers
in India. This has nothing to do with an Indian baby's ability to grow and
learn' this has to do with these Indians who are untrained. MSFT's
contracting to an incompetent company that outsources all subenterprise,
non-subscription tech support is big buisiness, one of the most
irresponsible thing MSFT has done, and if you ask any MSFT
engineer/developer/PM/employee with a parking spot on the Redmond campus
about it. they'll pretend they don't know what you're talking about.

Details on accessing this phone support:

Phone Number: 866-425-0593
Hours of Availability:
Monday – Friday: 5AM-9PM Pacific Time
Saturday – Sunday: 6AM-3PM Pacific Time
English only (US & Canada)
Best-effort troubleshooting in a consumer, non-domain environment

This has nothing to do with the CPP which was Redmondese for Ad Campaign
being closed. This is the same crappy incompetent tech support that MSFT
has proferred on their customers for years. You're much better off using
the groups.
