HI,

I see a couple of problems in my laptop. Any help is appreciated.

1. At times I see the media files can not be played. The related
message is your audio driver is used by another application. I think
the adio driver should be playing any number of files parallelly
right?

2. I have XP Pro installed in the laptop and I have a basic XP theme.
But at times the start-menu and toolbar changes to classical windows
style and never returns to XP style until I restart the laptop. It is
really irritating at times.

Anyone please help me.

Regards,
Raghu

Historically, that has not been true. But many more modern audio chips
and cards can and do automatically mix parallel audio sources. Note I
did not say ALL. You might be stuck. You'll have to find out from HP
to be sure. But trying the updated driver is probably quicker.

There are 2 drivers from HP that might fix that issue. The first, and
most likely to cure that issue is the audio driver. The second is the
chipset driver.

You might want to redirect this question to an XP newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general. There are many experts there who
may be able to help better. As this is a hardware group.
